Very Inspiring Blogger Award!

very-inspirational-blogger

I’m honored and grateful to have been nominated for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award by Kristi at That’s Another Story and Kate over at Run With Pup. Since my time here on WordPress I have met so many wonderful people and I love being part of such a supportive and kindness-oozing community and I am so thankful each and every one of you!

The steps for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award are as follows:

1. Thank the person who nominated you. A heartfelt thank you to Kristi and Kate! You ladies rock!

2. Add the Very Inspiring Blogger Award to your post-done

3. Share seven things about yourself.

I have never been on a diet, healthy eating and exercise is what it’s all about

I named by baby chickens Carl, Fergie, Beyoncé and J-Lo. But Fergie is now a Frank, Beyoncé is a Bob and J-Lo is a Jack. Sadly, I have to find homes for the roosters, my neighbor is not happy about them crowing at 5am.

I love going to garage sales

I am currently in a position where I am planning something, but I don’t think I can ever live up to the expectations of the person I am planning it for. I try to remind myself it will be amazing and beautiful, but honestly, I can’t help but feel discouraged about it.

When I am craving something sweet I prefer eating fresh or dried fruit over chocolate.

My current favorite dessert to make is pineapple-upside down cheesecake

I think Facebook is a total waste of my time

4. Nominate a list of bloggers that inspire you. This is always tough since there are so many wonderfully inspiring people here on WordPress! But here we go, in no particular order my nominations are……

Runner Girl

Healthy in Cville

Single-Tracked Mind

A Promise to Dad

278 Boston

MaybeMarthoner

Fit Recovery

So Very Slightly Mad

Running Around The Bend

I am sure I am forgetting someone or somebody, but if you haven’t already, check them out, you won’t be disappointed.
5. And finally, the last task is to inform your nominees by posting a comment on their blogs. –in progress

Thanks again for the nomination ladies, I deeply appreciate you both thinking of me!

Until next time always be true to yourself and think like a boss!

Don’t get discouraged. All you can do is what you think is right and the best for that person. If that doesn’t meet their “expectations” maybe the problem is with their expectations. Love your names for your chickens — sorry to hear you have to get rid of the roosters. That neighbor needs to chill.

As for the Be Real Shoes — I went to dinner last night with my boys and wore the shows. They are INCREDIBLE!! I love to go barefoot. If I could I would never put anything on my feet. Those shoes are the closest to walking barefoot you can get without actually being bare. Now I just need to go for a long walk, or a short run, with them and see what happens.

Oh, one more thing … yes FB is a waste of time. I really wish I could talk myself into deleting my account there.

    • Yeah I agree and I am doing my best, but there are low moments when I feel like I can’t win, which honesty, I can’t, no one can meet our expectations when we are “stuck” in an idea of how we want things right?

I am so bummed I ended up with 3 roosters! They are super loud in the morning, I am surprised no other neighbors have complained 😉

Aren’t the Be Real Shoes awesome!? I love mine and I also love that they can get wet! 🙂

I haven’t deleting my FB yet, I just don’t go on there anymore, the ads and who “liked” or “commented” on what drives me bonkers, not to mention the fake-ness that goes along with it all! I like Instagram much better 🙂

      • That whole expectations thing. Sigh. It’s been four weeks today since I stopped drinking beer and I had an epiphany this morning. One of the impacts it had on me was to cloud my mind and enhance my depression. Which in turn led to focusing on what I don’t have — how my expectations aren’t being met. Since I stopped drinking my mood has chanced significantly. There are still a lot of holes in my life but I’m not dwelling so much on them and am more accepting of what is. Not sure if that’s a good thing because there are still those holes. But people around me are suffering less because I am not all about my expectations anymore. At least not as much.

      • That is so awesome! And such a great point relating to focusing on “what we don’t have”, I hadn’t really thought of that and its so true!

And you my friend are making such positive changes, I am so happy for you! 🙂

  2. You deserve this!!! Congrats. I don’t know anyone who tries so hard to inspire and keep positive. I know that life isn’t always fair and circumstances aren’t always good, but you keep your chin up anyway. :). Also thank you for the nomination!!! 🙂

    • Awe thank you so much! It sure doesn’t feel that way sometimes, but I have learned doing my best to stay positive does ease some of what life throws at me!

And you are very welcome, you have been a source of inspiration for me in so many ways! ❤

  3. I wasted too many years dieting before I learned the whole eating healthy & exercising thing. Good for you for figuring that out early on!

    That’s a great story about your chickens…er…roosters 🙂

Thank you so much for thinking about me 🙂

    • I have my parents to thank, it’s all I really have known. 🙂 I have been so grateful in my adult years and raising my children though, one less worry for all of us 🙂

I still haven’t found homes for my roosters, I am hoping to soon, they get up when I do @ 430 am, my neighbors are not very happy, which I can understand they are super loud! 😉

And of course, you are very welcome! ❤

  4. Congratulations! The award is perfect for you because you are an inspiring person, not just an inspiring blogger 🙂

Regarding baby chicks: I have a friend who has the same problem. I guess he can “return” the chicks to the feed store if he finds out early enough that they are male, but usually by the time he knows, his wife and daughters are already too attached 🙂

How can you prefer anything over chocolate? (Although I do think your preference of dried or fresh fruit explains a lot about your healthy diet.)

Facebook is indeed a total waste of your time. I got on FB years ago when my nephew started posting pictures of his kids there instead of the family web site. If it hadn’t been for that, I might never have bothered.

As far as that thing you are planning: please don’t be discouraged. Nothing can ever be perfect. It can be beautiful. It can be awesome. But not perfect. And no one, including yourself, should have expectations so high they can’t be reached. I know, that’s easy to say than do. My own rule is that I do the best I can do and if it ain’t good enough, then too bad. Life goes on. (Of course, I don’t like rules 😉 )

    • Thank you so much! ❤

I can return the chicks to the feed store, but I grown a little attached to them and some people buy them for food, I want want them to go to a good home. I posted an ad for them yesterday, no responses yet, but hopefully soon! 🙂

I am with you on the planning thing, but it's been rough. Being a perfectionist, I struggle with my own expectations of things, factor in someone else having (what feels like) impossible expectations and there are moments when it just feels plain discouraging. The good news is, everything is coming together and at the end of the day, I do know, I am and will have done my very best. Lots of deep breathes until then! 🙂

  5. Congrats on your well-dresser ex nomination and thank you for mine 🙂

I love that you’ve never dieted. I did when I was younger and I do occasionally try to eat differently, but not “dieting” because I don’t think it works. Do you have chickens for the fresh eggs? I’m always fascinated by that. My uncle swears by the taste.
