April Goals (In Progress)

April Goals

For me physically April is/has going to be all about getting stronger and increasing my mileage. So far increasing my mileage is going very well. But getting stronger needs more work. Getting to the gym more is fine, but I am a little nervous about running hills. It’s been a while and I feel pretty rusty. Yes. I have considered running “hills” on the treadmill, but honestly, the treadmill makes them feel even less appealing.

Yellow Heart

I am a little tired of feeling like I am never caught up. Or overwhelmed because I have so much to do and I don’t have time to do it all. So for me personally April is/has been about trying to take a step back and being mindful of how I spend my time. Is there anything or anyone that is taking up my time that could be used to better serve me, or rather is more meaningful? So far the answer is yes. But unfortunately I haven’t come up with a way to change it just yet.

And grad school is really weighing me down. I keep trying to find something I like about it, but I’ve got nothing. Nonetheless, back to studying I go, so I can get a decent run in later today.

Do you have any goals for April?

Do you know how to link my Pinterest to WordPress?

Do you have any exciting plans for the weekend?

Until next time, always be true to yourself and think like a boss!

  1. I just registered to take a fitness and nutrition course so I’m going to be right there with you in terms of trying to manage that ontop of everything. You are doing great girl….never doubt that you can do it as I know you can. Stay positive and look towards the finish line…it will be worth it!!!

    • Its definitely a challenge to manage all that has to be done (deadlines ect) on top of what needs to be done! I’m sure you will rock your class and be able to share what you learned with others. We’ve got this, maybe everything isn’t all figured out, but we’ve got this! 🙂

  2. Grad school is tough and since you can’t switch things around mid-semester, it often feels like a long slog. All you can do is hang in there and keep your eyes on the prize: graduation 🙂 I’ll be taking a break in a few days. I’m hoping to “reset” my priorities during that time so life will at least seem more manageable. We’ll see 😉 Good luck with your training. And don’t write off hill-running on the treadmill just yet. Sometimes you just need to get started, get the endorphins coursing through your body, and then it can be fun, especially if the treadmill has a random hill program.

    • Boy does it ever feel like a long slog! And lots up avoidable stress related to the structure and instructor of my current class. Three more weeks or so and I’ll be done with it, I can’t wait! 🙂 Great point relating to the treadmill, I may give it a go. 🙂

Taking a break sounds wonderful, I am so happy to hear you are able to, you deserve it! 🙂

  3. I think the secret to hill runs is to fine a hill that is challenging enough to make you feel great after running it. I hated hill runs until I found my “hill”. Now I look forward to slaying the dragon each time I start my run up that hill. Also the benefits have been enormous. That alone keeps me going back for more.

Good luck with the grad work. I know it is tough, but just consider it like a hill run. You hate doing it, but the benefits will be awesome!!!
