  1. I’ve struggled with getting out and running the past week. Tonight I forced myself to go for the first time since Tuesday. I’m extremely frustrated. Both of my knees are killing me during my runs. A part of my legs that never bothered me when I used to run and at the moment it is almost impossible for me to run. Both knees. From the first stop of a run to the last. Trying to think like a boss. Trying to find strength. It’s difficult at the moment.

    • Oh no! I’m so sorry to hear it, you got news shoes yes? Maybe you’ve built up a habit of using your body a different way since your injury? Try and be mindful of where your feet hit with your stride….. are they crossing? Parallel? I know for myself prior to this last injury I had to break a habit of my feet crossing from favoring my right leg after surgery. And even now, with this last injury I noticed the other day I start to favor my right side when the impact starts to aggravate things. I hope that makes sense?

I completely understand your frustration as I am feeling very frustrated as well, trying to be okay with my progress and stay motivated. Today was an especially rough day in both those departments, hence the quote/post.
I hope things feel easier/better for you soon! Keep showing up, you’ve got this! Tomorrow is a new day . A new run. And an opportunity to try again and overcome the obstacles! πŸ™‚

      • I got the new shoes … same type as I was running on for three or four years. As near as I can tell my stride is no different. The only thing I’m trying to do (pretty unsuccessfully) is eliminate heel strike and land more on the mid-foot. Which is supposed to be better for the knees.
You run tomorrow and I will to. We’ll report back on the results. πŸ™‚
